"I'm
With Busey" Second Episode
In
this installment, Gary takes Adam on a Vision Quest in Sedona,
and hilarity ensues. Almost as funny and much more
coherent than the pilot, this episode gives us a better taste
of what's to come, as we become more familiar with Adam and
Gary's personalities and how they interact.
The
episode begins with Adam being dropped off at Gary's house by
his mom (he doesn't drive). Poor, naive Adam is excited
to see Gary again. He thinks that Gary's going to teach
him some tricks to surviving in the wilderness. Gary, on
the other hand, wants to treck around the desert looking for
Native Americans whom he's hired to act magical.
After
an animated Gary drives Adam from Malibu, CA to Sedona, AZ in
his convertible, the comedic duo journey through the desert to
find The Magic Indian. Gary tells a story about
wrestling a bear while covered in chicken fat and cling
wrap. Adam often seems miserable. Gary the
Naturalist has a Jesus-like burst of righteous anger, tearing
apart Adam's inappropriate Sears-brand camping gear. As
their journey progresses, Gary and Adam meet some magical(?)
Native Americans who repeatedly inspire Gary to the point
where he chokes up until Adam offers an irreverent quip and
annoys him.
All
in all, an excellent ride, and I predict that things will get
even better as Adam and Gary become more comfortable with each
other. Keep 'em coming.
